{"id":55582,"date":"2019-04-16T11:31:00","date_gmt":"2019-04-16T10:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=55582"},"modified":"2019-04-16T11:31:00","modified_gmt":"2019-04-16T10:31:00","slug":"douglas-ohi-duqm-refinery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/douglas-ohi-duqm-refinery\/55582\/","title":{"rendered":"Douglas OHI to deliver \u00a339.2m Duqm Refinery"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Interserve has announced that Douglas OHI has won two new construction contracts to work on the flagship development of the new Duqm Oil Refinery in Oman<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/douglasohi.com\/\">Douglas OHI<\/a> is a joint venture between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.interserve.com\/\">Interserve<\/a> and Oman Holdings International Company\u00a0SAOG, delivering civil and building projects in the Sultanate of Oman.<\/p>\n<p>Joint venture <a href=\"https:\/\/www.duqmrefinery.om\/duqm-tender\/tecnicas-reunidas-sadaewoo-engineering-construction-co-ltd-jv\/\">T\u00e9cnicas Reunidas Daewoo<\/a> (TRD) selected Douglas OHI to deliver the process units at the new Duqm Refinery in a contract worth \u00a332.2m. The scope of this contract includes the civil and underground piping to support the installation of equipment, pipe racks and specialist structures and networks across packages 1 and 2.<\/p>\n<p>Following this contract win, Douglas OHI was also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/code-of-practice\/54884\/\">awarded a \u00a37m contract<\/a> by TRD to deliver the building integration work on the site. The scope of the contract includes the construction and coordination of 23 buildings with a total area of 18,328 square meters.<\/p>\n<p>Duqm Refinery is a major new greenfield project strategically located within the Special Economic Zone of Duqm. The refinery will have the capacity to process around 230,000 barrels of crude oil per day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/douglasohi.com\/about-us\/leadership-team\/\">Aaron Hennessy<\/a>, general manager, Douglas OHI said, \u201cWe are proud to be associated with and play a leading role in the delivery of the new refinery, a flagship development for Oman and the Special Economic Zone at Duqm. This project will expand our portfolio of supporting international EPC contractors in delivering industrial projects throughout Oman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe award demonstrates TRD\u2019s confidence in our ability to deliver the build programme through our technical capabilities and experience in the industry.
