Following the council\u2019s decision, Clarion has been working closely with residents and the local community to enhance the regeneration scheme designs, including the layouts of the homes and landscaping.<\/p>\n
Paul Quinn, director of Merton Regeneration at Clarion said: \u201cThe submission of these planning applications demonstrates our continued commitment to the transformation of Merton.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur regeneration proposals put residents first and provide better community and green spaces and links to local areas. The project will also contribute to the prosperity, health and wellbeing of the local community through job creation and opportunities for local businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n
Work is currently underway to build the first 21 new homes on the site of the disused garages at Ravensbury and 134 homes on land not currently used for housing at High Path. Every home is earmarked for existing residents.<\/p>\n
The decision to regenerate these neighbourhoods was made after taking into account the standard of some existing homes, levels of overcrowding and the findings of an independent residents\u2019 survey.<\/p>\n
