With less than two months left to submit entries, IES are announcing a final call for students across the globe to <a href=\"http:\/\/r1.dotmailer-surveys.com\/20wn38f-c23ky8a7\">register their interest<\/a> and <a href=\"mailto:award@iesve.com?subject=Martin%20Gough%20Award%20Entry\">submit their papers<\/a> by <strong>30<sup>th<\/sup> June 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Martin Gough Student Award seeks excellence in research based on Apache and thermal simulation, which was Martin\u2019s main area of expertise. Students from around the world are invited to take part, if they can answer yes to any of the following questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have you used ApacheSim or ApacheHVAC with novel building projects?<\/li>\n<li>Have you modelled innovative systems or renewables?<\/li>\n<li>Have you linked energy simulation output with external models or algorithms?<\/li>\n<li>Have you successfully calibrated models against reality?<\/li>\n<li>Have you modelled unique internal environments, factories, industrial processes?<\/li>\n<li>Have you brought new control approaches into energy simulation?<\/li>\n<li>Are you pushing the boundaries in energy research and modelling with IES VE?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Does this sound like you? If so, you could be in with a chance of winning our top prize of \u00a31000 (or local currency equivalent), a full 12 month IESVE software licence and access to our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/distance-learning.iesve.com\/courses\">distance learning portal<\/a>\u00a0for one year. One runner up will also receive a \u00a3500 cash prize, as well as an annual IESVE software and distance learning licence.<\/p>\n<p>The award also presents a rare opportunity for students to gain global recognition for their work. Case studies of both our winning entries will be published on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iesve.com\/discoveries\">DiscoverIES<\/a>\u00a0and promoted to the wider building simulation industry.<\/p>\n<p>We received a number of high-quality entries last year making it very difficult for our judging panel.
