{"id":58029,"date":"2019-06-04T09:53:38","date_gmt":"2019-06-04T08:53:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=58029"},"modified":"2019-06-04T09:53:38","modified_gmt":"2019-06-04T08:53:38","slug":"new-properties-for-northamptons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/new-properties-for-northamptons\/58029\/","title":{"rendered":"Work begins on new properties for Northampton\u2019s South West District"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>More new homes are on the way for people looking to live in Northampton\u2019s South West District as work begins on 212 new properties at Upton Park<\/h2>\n<p>Built by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.morrishomes.co.uk\/\">Morris Homes<\/a>, the scheme will form part of a wider 860 home development on land owned by the Government\u2019s housing agency, Homes England, who have also invested \u00a377m in infrastructure for the district, including roads and parkland.<\/p>\n<p>Morris will deliver a mix of apartments and a variety of houses at the site. Alongside almost 1,000 homes which have already been built at Upton, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.keepmoat.com\/upton-place-northampton\">Upton Park<\/a> and Upton Lodge will collectively deliver over 2,200 new properties for people in Northampton.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen Kinsella, executive director for land at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/homes-england\">Homes England<\/a> said: \u201cThe start on site at Upton Park marks the beginning of a new neighbourhood for Northampton.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe development will offer a range of homes to meet the needs of local people, building on the success of the new community at Upton.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Homes England is currently seeking planning permission from Northampton Borough Council for its Upton Lodge site, which it is anticipated will deliver a further 1,400 homes for the town.<\/p>\n<p>Martin O\u2019Toole, regional managing director (Eastern) from Morris Homes said: \u201cWe are delighted to be working with Homes England on this new phase of development in the village of Upton.
