{"id":59286,"date":"2019-07-02T07:54:12","date_gmt":"2019-07-02T06:54:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=59286"},"modified":"2019-07-02T07:54:12","modified_gmt":"2019-07-02T06:54:12","slug":"crest-nicholson-sovereign-housing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/crest-nicholson-sovereign-housing\/59286\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00a3229m Crest Nicholson and Sovereign Housing JV announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>A new \u00a3229m joint venture between Crest Nicholson and Sovereign Housing Association is to deliver 920 affordable and intermediate homes at Harry Stoke, Bristol<\/h2>\n<p>Crest Nicholson and Sovereign Housing Association announced the formation of a partnership to deliver 920 new homes within the next phase of the 2,700 home residential community at Harry Stoke.<\/p>\n<p>The \u00a3229m Joint Venture (JV) will utilise Crest\u2019s place-making and major project delivery skills to deliver both the homes and associated infrastructure. The arrangements also include a commitment from the Sovereign Housing to pre-purchase 376 of the associated affordable and intermediate homes from the JV.<\/p>\n<p>Crest Nicholson and Sovereign Housing Association are long-standing partners, with successful previous developments including Centenary Quay in Southampton, Tadpole Garden Village in Swindon and Harbourside in Bristol.<\/p>\n<p>Affordable housing and additional intermediate housing will comprise circa 42% of the development and includes 106 and additional grant-funded intermediate homes available for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/research-reveals-patchwork-government-home-ownership-schemes\/28725\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shared ownership<\/a> or affordable rent. These homes will include a range of one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom homes to suit the diverse range of customer needs.<\/p>\n<p>The homes at Harry Stoke are set to be delivered over the next seven years, with infrastructure works due to start this month. The first completed units are expected for Autumn 2019, with residents moving in shortly after.<\/p>\n<p>Chris Tinker, interim chief executive at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crestnicholson.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Crest Nicholson<\/a>,\u00a0said: \u201cWe are delighted to be extending our long-standing partnership with Sovereign and to be\u00a0teaming up together to deliver this new residential community on the Northern fringe of Bristol.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe combination of Crest\u2019s major project and housing delivery skills and Sovereign\u2019s commitment to acquiring and managing the new affordable and intermediate homes will enable us to accelerate the delivery of quality new homes at Harry Stoke and to meet the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/bristol-set-for-15000-new-homes-to-combat-housing-shortage\/40048\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">housing need<\/a> in this fast-growing part of Bristol.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tom Titherington, executive director development and commercial for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sovereign.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sovereign<\/a>,\u00a0added:\u00a0\u201cAs a major affordable housing provider, we are looking for partners who can help us provide the foundations for a new community &#8211; quality affordable homes, jobs and infrastructure that supports our place-making agenda.
