{"id":59631,"date":"2019-07-08T14:05:07","date_gmt":"2019-07-08T13:05:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=59631"},"modified":"2019-07-08T15:03:39","modified_gmt":"2019-07-08T14:03:39","slug":"willmott-dixon-250-new-homes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/willmott-dixon-250-new-homes\/59631\/","title":{"rendered":"Trafford Housing Trust and Willmott Dixon to deliver 250 new homes"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Trafford Housing Trust and L&amp;Q have joined forces with Willmott Dixon to bring forward the development of Homes England\u2019s coveted D\u2019Urton Lane site in Preston<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Situated on D\u2019Urton Lane in the Fulwood area of Preston, the \u00a347m development will consist of a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom homes and will also include green space. Over half of the homes will be affordable housing, either for shared ownership or affordable rent. The remaining\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">homes will be for outright sale.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.traffordhousingtrust.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trafford Housing Trust<\/a>, L&amp;Q and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.willmottdixon.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Willmott Dixon<\/a> have created a joint venture company, Laurus Partnership Homes LLP, to deliver the project. Subject to planning approval, the joint venture partnership will purchase the land for development and begin construction in 2019. Willmott Dixon will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/leeds-social-housing\/57824\/\">deliver the homes<\/a> at an accelerated pace, which reflect a key element of the Government\u2019s 300,000 homes per annum target.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Larry Gold, chief executive at Trafford Housing Trust, said: \u201cD\u2019Urton Lane meets our core objective of tackling the current housing crisis, which is leaving hardworking families struggling to make ends meet, and reflects our commitment to developing affordable homes. We are proud of our innovative development model which sees us reinvest all profits into providing more new homes and supporting wider social purpose initiatives \u2013 a model which we believe should be rolled out across the sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Anthony Dillon, managing director of Willmott Dixon in the North, said: \u201cTrafford Housing Trust and Willmott Dixon recently delivered the Limelight development on Shrewsbury Street in Old Trafford and will be bringing this collaboration to Preston as partners in this LLP. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cAs part of Laurus Partnership Homes we will work tirelessly in establishing a partnership with Homes England and its stakeholders to deliver a high-quality development which delivers aspirational new homes and achieves an accelerated pace of delivery.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Situated among excellent transport links, D\u2019Urton Lane has easy access to both the M6 and M55. In addition, the development aims to provide a significant boost to Preston City Council\u2019s ambitious North West Preston Masterplan and will help to create a new vibrant community, targeting downsizers, and first-time buyers, including through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/help-to-buy-2\/46826\/\">Help to Buy<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Duncan Inglis, head of accelerated delivery at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/homes-england\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Homes England<\/a>, said: \u201cHomes England is delighted to see a high-quality contemporary proposal for this prestigious site, which will provide a scheme of 250 new homes, 127 of which will be affordable housing.
