Microsoft<\/a>‘s first flagship location in the UK is also the first physical location in Europe, located on a corner of Oxford Circus and covers more than 22,000 square feet over three floors<\/h2>\n

Mace provided project management<\/a>, programme management and cost consultancy services to Microsoft for the new flagship. One of the most complex retail construction projects ever delivered in London, the new flagship is in a Grade II listed building at the iconic Oxford Circus.<\/p>\n

The project included a series of structural alterations to conform to a 1904 structural code and bring the building up to 21st Century standards.<\/p>\n

Mace<\/a> led a team of experts consisting of Gensler<\/a>, Ramboll<\/a>, Montagu Evans<\/a>, CBRE<\/a> and others, working together to deliver the transformation of the heritage location and create a cutting-edge design for customers. The process also involved extensive stakeholder engagement with Westminster Council<\/a> and others to ensure the project was able to proceed without disruption to one of the world\u2019s most high-profile retail streets.<\/p>\n

The store features an Answer Desk and Experience Centre, offering dedicated areas for customers to get tech support, training and advice from trusted advisors on Microsoft products and services.<\/p>\n

Michael Ford, general manager for Microsoft\u2019s global real estate and facilities, said: \u201cOur flagship locations not only offer a unique way for our brand to connect with every customer \u2013 from businesses to consumers \u2013 but also serves as a central and unique location for Microsoft employees to maximise engagement with partners and customers, extending our traditional real estate. The London flagship could not be in a more desirable location with a prime landing on Oxford Circus.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jeremy Davey, Mace\u2019s director for private sector project management, said:\u00a0\u201cThis is one of the complex and challenging retail construction jobs<\/a> ever delivered by the UK market \u2013 and so Mace is very proud to have played such a key role in creating this ambitious and iconic new flagship.
