Construction Scotland<\/a> has expanded its Industry Leadership Group (ILG) by appointing Balfour Beatty<\/a> Scotland and Ireland managing director, Hector MacAulay<\/h2>\n

Over the course of his three-decade career in construction, Hector MacAulay has gained a wealth of experience across the civil engineering and construction sectors and has worked on a wide variety of construction projects around the UK and Ireland.<\/p>\n

Under his leadership, Balfour Beatty is currently undertaking the redevelopment of Glasgow<\/a> Queen Street Station, the flagship Edinburgh Futures Institute on behalf of the University of Edinburgh and dualling the A9 north of Perth. Hector is also a member of Balfour Beatty\u2019s executive leadership team for the UK construction services arm of Balfour Beatty<\/p>\n

Hector MacAulay, said: \u201cI am delighted to be joining Construction Scotland ILG as it grows in stature and influence, leading the agenda for the wider construction sector in Scotland.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cA strong and vibrant Construction Sector is essential to underpin the economic development of Scotland<\/a>, delivering prosperity, sustainable economic growth and employment\u201d.<\/p>\n

Hector continued: \u201cI have a passionate belief that the construction industry has a duty and a responsibility to support and enhance communities in which it operates, and to leave a lasting and sustainable legacy when it moves on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ken Gillespie, chair of Construction Scotland\u2019s Industry Leadership Group said: \u201cWe are delighted to welcome Hector MacAulay. His appointment demonstrates our commitment to delivering the strategy we launched in November last year which has six key areas of focus:\u00a0ending lowest cost procurement, increasing skills and diversity, improving quality<\/a>, supporting reform of planning and building regulations, improving productivity and profitability and facilitating sector growth.<\/p>\n
