Social housing provider, Citizen<\/a> has officially completed the first two modular homes at the Littlethorpe development in Coventry<\/h2>\n

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to mark the completion of the Littlethorpe development and officials were given a chance to have a look around the modular homes.<\/p>\n

The homes were constructed by Totally Modular<\/a> in its factory in Cradley Heath and transported on the back of a truck to Willenhall, Coventry.<\/p>\n

The homes include a two-bedroom property and a three-bedroom property and could be the first of many across the West Midlands.<\/p>\n

Director of development at Citizen, Richard Whittaker, said: \u201cIt\u2019s brilliant these homes have been completed and we are handing them over to residents.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope that the people who move into these homes thoroughly enjoy living there.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Littlethorpe site<\/a> was small which is why we chose to build modular homes here and build offsite. Traditional builds would have been too disruptive here.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope these homes will be the first of many across the West Midlands.\u201d<\/p>\n

The two modular homes were built on the site of a former scout hut in partnership with Totally Modular and Coventry City Council<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Each home costs \u00a3134,000 to build and the development was part-funded by Homes England and Coventry City Council.<\/p>\n

Resident Hammedali Dair is moving into one of the homes from his current accommodation in the Salvation Army.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI have seen inside the house and it is amazing, it was a huge relief when I was told that I could have it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel really great to be the first person to live here as everything will be new and only used by me.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am so excited to move in and make it my own.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hammedali will be living in the property with his wife and son.<\/p>\n

The properties will have many benefits which include reduced fuel bills and excellent energy ratings.<\/p>\n

Managing director at Totally Modular, John Connolly, added: \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled that the homes have been completed and officially handed over to tenants.<\/p>\n

\u201cUp to 95% of work on the homes is completed in our factory. The homes are then taken to the site and craned on to precision installation pads and hooked up to the mains.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re so pleased to have been involved with this project and hope the residents enjoy living in their new homes.\u201d<\/p>\n
