{"id":62896,"date":"2019-09-10T08:55:18","date_gmt":"2019-09-10T07:55:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=62896"},"modified":"2019-09-10T08:55:18","modified_gmt":"2019-09-10T07:55:18","slug":"consultation-construction-training-standards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/consultation-construction-training-standards\/62896\/","title":{"rendered":"CITB launches consultation on 1,000 construction training standards"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.citb.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CITB<\/a> is seeking industry views from across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland on more than 1,000 new and existing construction training standards<\/h2>\n<p>On a rolling five-year basis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/tag\/citb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CITB reviews<\/a> and updates construction training standards to check with industry that they stay up to date and relevant.<\/p>\n<p>Consultation for the next stage of the five-year cycle is now open.<\/p>\n<p>With so many different construction training standards and trades involved, CITB is asking industry stakeholders how they would like to participate, which can include the following means:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Online<\/li>\n<li>Telephone<\/li>\n<li>Webinars<\/li>\n<li>Face to face meetings<\/li>\n<li>Steering groups<\/li>\n<li>Roadshows.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The first step is now under way, with six National Occupational Standards (NOS) suites which have been prioritised by Skills Development Scotland on behalf of the devolved nations being reviewed by CITB and additionally a large number of Short Duration Course Training Standards prioritised by CITB itself.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Noonan, CITB industry relations director, said: \u201cStandards underpin our industry, and CITB\u2019s role is to reflect the opinions of industry, not define the standards ourselves.
