The\u00a0National Digital Twin\u00a0(NDT)\u00a0has been cited by the National Infrastructure Commission<\/a> as having the potential to unlock an additional \u00a37bn per year of benefits across the UK infrastructure sector<\/h2>\n

Yesterday (9 September)\u00a0in London, the Centre for Digital Built Britain<\/a> (CDBB)\u00a0and the Institution of Civil Engineers<\/a> (ICE)\u00a0brought\u00a0together\u00a0digital pioneers\u00a0from government and\u00a0industry\u00a0to provide an update on\u00a0digital twins, the National Digital Twin\u00a0Programme\u00a0and\u00a0to\u00a0celebrate the\u00a0launch of the\u00a0CDBB\u2019s\u00a0Digital Twin Hub<\/a>\u00a0(DT Hub).<\/p>\n

National Digital Twin Day was the first day in a week-long showcase of\u00a0the progress\u00a0by CDBB and its partners towards digital transformation<\/a> in the built environment.\u00a0It offers expert guidance\u00a0and practical insights\u00a0on digital twin adoption through\u00a0a series\u00a0of interactive workshops\u00a0with digital twin pioneers.<\/p>\n

Keynote presentations\u00a0from Mark Enzer,\u00a0chair of\u00a0CDBB\u2019s Digital Framework Task Group (DFTG) and\u00a0Sarah Hayes, project director of regulation at National Infrastructure Commission (NIC) discussed how digital twin thinking can drive more value from data, maximise infrastructure performance and deliver better outcomes for society.<\/p>\n

The event also serves as the official launch of\u00a0CDBB\u2019s\u00a0DT Hub, a\u00a0community\u00a0to\u00a0support ongoing development and adoption of digital twins\u00a0that can be ultimately connected to the NDT.<\/p>\n

The National Digital Twin\u00a0will be a national resource for improving the performance, service and value delivered by the UK\u2019s infrastructure; delivering benefits to society, business, the environment, and the economy.\u00a0The creation of\u00a0its\u00a0underlying information management\u00a0framework forms an integral part of HM Government\u2019s modern Industrial Strategy and Construction Sector Deal<\/a>.\u00a0Its development is being guided by CDBB\u2019s DFTG.<\/p>\n
