It is leading the world in the property building and buying market, and the sector already receives 10% of global <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/proptech-opportunity-or-threat-surveyors-attitudes-to-adoption\/49471\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PropTech investment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Roundtable participants included:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/w3.urbanintelligence.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Urban Intelligence<\/a> \u2013 a tool that helps developers and landowners to locate development sites more easily<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/thefuturefox.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Future Fox<\/a> \u2013 which is transforming community engagement in the planning process, enabling developers and local authorities to engage a much larger and more diverse range of voices in creating positive planning outcomes<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wayhome.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wayhome<\/a> \u2013 which aspires to make home ownership more realisable for many more people by co-investing in property with its customers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>McVey said: \u201cWe\u2019ve had revolutions in the way that financial services, online banking and transport are provided, turning once unimaginable possibilities into everyday realities. Now it\u2019s the turn of the UK property market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhatever homebuyers prioritise, whether it\u2019s the quality of local schools, the probability of getting a seat on a train, or having easy access to leisure facilities, this technology could transform the way we find and purchase homes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe UK property sector is on the cusp of a digital revolution. It\u2019s time to harness new technology to unlock land and unleash the potential of housebuilders in all parts of the country and to revolutionise the way in which we buy homes.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>New technologies could allow:<\/h3>\n<h4>Communities to:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>See models and interactive maps of planned development rather than one or two pictures<\/li>\n<li>Comment on planning applications online, on phones and on the go (in the same way that they use online banking services)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Prospective home buyers to:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Use commute time calculators when they are looking at properties<\/li>\n<li>Explore financing options to help buyers afford their new home or enable gradual home ownership<\/li>\n<li>Receive step-by-step assistance to help them navigate the buying process<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Developers to:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify sites so that more houses are built more quickly<\/li>\n<li>Quickly locate suitable brownfield sites suitable for development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>SMEs don\u2019t often have the resources for dedicated teams to find sites, appraise them and craft planning applications.
