{"id":65910,"date":"2019-10-24T11:57:36","date_gmt":"2019-10-24T10:57:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=65910"},"modified":"2019-10-24T11:57:38","modified_gmt":"2019-10-24T10:57:38","slug":"caddick-construction-build-to-rent-homes-leeds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/caddick-construction-build-to-rent-homes-leeds\/65910\/","title":{"rendered":"Caddick Construction to deliver build-to-rent scheme in Leeds"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/modaliving.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Moda Living<\/a> has appointed sister company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.caddickconstruction.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Caddick Construction<\/a> to deliver 515 build-to-rent homes in Leeds city centre<\/h2>\n<p>Designed by <a href=\"https:\/\/dlgarchitects.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DLG Architects<\/a>, the build-to-rent\u00a0homes will be spread across two 16-storey blocks, with a new public courtyard in between the buildings.<\/p>\n<p>It will also feature rooftop terraces overlooking the city centre and two commercial units on the ground floor.<\/p>\n<p>The build-to-rent development, at New York Square, will host a range of on-site amenities, such as flexible workspaces, a cycle hub, and health and wellbeing facilities, with access to everything included in the rent.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Services include 24-hour concierge and round-the-clock professional management. The MyModa app will enable residents to report maintenance issues, book events, and acts as the apartment key.<\/p>\n<p>Work on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/build-to-rent-sector-sees-20-growth\/65732\/\">build-to-rent<\/a> scheme is due to start this month. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Together with Apache Capital Partners, Moda has over 7,500 rental homes across England and Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>Cities like London, Manchester, and Birmingham have all seen a lot of build-to-rent activity and New York Square will be one of the first, high-quality build-to-rent schemes in Leeds.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The homes at New York Square, where Moda will be a mix of studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments. A unique two-bed sharer layout will provide the perfect solution for sharers \u2013 two equally-sized bedrooms, with en-suites on either side of shared living space.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Other Caddick developments <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The build-to-rent scheme forms a key part of the new \u00a3300m SOYO neighbourhood being delivered by Caddick Developments.<\/p>\n<p>Other Caddick Construction projects include the \u00a333m Hudson Quarter development in York and the \u00a343m redevelopment of Headingley Stadium in Leeds.<\/p>\n<p>Caddick Construction, Caddick Developments, and Moda Living are all part of the Yorkshire-based Caddick Group, which reported a turnover of over \u00a3200m this year.<\/p>\n<p>Caddick Group recently agreed to help Leeds City Council create a 100,000 sq ft complex at the site of the old Polestar Petty works to host media and TV companies, attracted by Channel 4\u2019s new nearby headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny Caddick, managing director at Moda Living and director at Caddick Group, said: \u201cNew York Square marks the first phase of SOYO, which will regenerate a car park into a new and exciting city centre neighbourhood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cModa\u2019s aim is to raise the bar for rental in the city, creating high-quality homes and strengthening the appeal of city centre living for all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Martin Farrington, director of City Development for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leeds.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Leeds City Council<\/a>, added:\u00a0\u201cOn the back of the new City College and refurbished Leeds Playhouse, it\u2019s fantastic to see Moda bringing their residential development forward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a real statement of confidence in Leeds and a further boost to the city.
