Graitec<\/a>, a global developer of BIM design and calculation software solutions, has announced the acquisition of Geomap GIS America\u2019s<\/a> Autodesk business unit<\/h2>\n

The acquisition is strategic for the interaction between BIM<\/a> and GIS in the foundation of smart cities.<\/p>\n

Hugo Michaud, general manager at Graitec Canada, explains: “In the context of continued population and city growth, discussions of climate change and the importance of sustainable buildings, the construction market is really booming.<\/p>\n

\u201cGraitec and Geomap will be working together to make sure information flows between GIS and BIM.”<\/p>\n

As a result of this transaction, all of Geomap\u2019s day-to-day operations such as information requests, technical support and training will be managed by Graitec.<\/p>\n

This will provide Geomap\u2019s customers with access to a new range of products and such as Gratiec Advantage<\/a> Service to access to online training, PowerPack for Revit<\/a> to purchase or renew Revit subscriptions, as well as a range of services, tailored to AEC and manufacturing professionals.<\/p>\n

Geomap\u2019s customers will also to access large pools of professional and technical resources, who share their knowledge and expertise with each other daily.<\/p>\n

Danick Venne, CEO of Geomap, said: “This alliance will allow Geomap to refocus our team\u2019s efforts on what it does best: providing intelligent information management through M-Files, our company\u2019s content management solution and all our geomatics solutions that support Autodesk and ESRI technology.<\/p>\n

“After analyzing Autodesk partners in Quebec, we concluded that Graitec has the best technical team to support our customers on Autodesk products. Geomap will continue to work with Graitec on a daily basis to ensure the transition of subscription contracts and customer satisfaction.”<\/p>\n

Francis Guillemard, founder and chairman of Graitec, added: “Graitec is delighted to welcome Geomap’s customers and have them benefit from the group\u2019s technologies (e.g. PowerPack for Revit) and services.<\/p>\n
