Smithers Purslow<\/a> (SP) has acquired its northern\/Wales-based counterpart, Byrom Clark Roberts<\/a> (BCR), increasing staff numbers to over 100 working from 10 locations across the UK<\/h2>\n

Nine employees based at Smithers Purslow\u2019s office in Nottingham will now work alongside colleagues in Chester, Exeter, Glaston, Leeds, Llandudno, London, Manchester, Newcastle and Reading.<\/p>\n

The buy-out, completed at the end of October, follows a period of growth for Smithers Purslow. In five years turnover has grown by 25% per annum \u2013 from \u00a31.7m in 2014 to \u00a35.1m \u2013 and the firm\u2019s directors are confident this acquisition will propel turnover to \u00a38m in the next two years.<\/p>\n

SP\u2019s core business is handling complex insurance claims and solving challenging construction\/ property issues and legal disputes<\/a>. BCR works outside the insurance sector offering similar services, including expert witness support and architectural consultancy.<\/p>\n

SP director, Mike Boast, commented: \u201cBCR is the perfect fit for us \u2013 the firm\u2019s well-established in the north while we have a strong presence in the south and midlands \u2013 giving us a bigger UK footprint. We\u2019ve known and worked with BCR for 20 years and the sectors they operate in complement our key areas of focus.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur proven ability to manage and simplify complex building issues has enabled us to avoid the economic stalemate caused by Brexit uncertainty and consolidate what is already a thriving business, broadening the services and support we\u2019re able to give clients.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new board now comprises SP directors Andrew Bussey and Stephen Fraser alongside Byrom Clark Roberts directors Paul Vipond, Andrew Gooud and Shona Penfold.<\/p>\n
