{"id":67501,"date":"2019-11-15T11:54:39","date_gmt":"2019-11-15T11:54:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=67501"},"modified":"2019-11-15T11:58:58","modified_gmt":"2019-11-15T11:58:58","slug":"290-new-homes-in-salford","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/290-new-homes-in-salford\/67501\/","title":{"rendered":"Cole Waterhouse to deliver 290 new homes in Salford"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salford.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Salford City Council<\/a> has approved plans for a residential scheme, the Anchorage, which will deliver up to 290 new apartments in Salford Quays<\/h2>\n<p>Plans for The Anchorage were submitted by <a href=\"https:\/\/colewaterhouse.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cole Waterhouse<\/a> following the acquisition of the 20,635 sq ft site from COIF Charities Property Fund earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>The 29 storey L-shaped building, which is designed by architects <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapmantaylor.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chapman Taylor,<\/a> will offer one, two and three-bed apartments at the entrance to Salford Quays.<\/p>\n<p>Cole Waterhouse CEO, Damian Flood, said: \u201cThe site is in a great location between MediaCityUK, Exchange Quay and Trafford Park so easily within reach of both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/53-affordable-homes-in-salford\/65640\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Salford<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/high-street-regeneration\/65350\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Manchester<\/a> city centres.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are also building 354 apartments less than a mile away at No1 Old Trafford which is now over 60% sold so we know that there is a huge appetite for well-built, quality homes at the right price in this area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following concerns over the height of the building, Waterhouse added: \u201cPlanning submissions for all buildings over 90m are reviewed by the airport and The Anchorage development followed the same process. We will follow the safety guidance as advised by the airport.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As part of its commitment to the area, Cole Waterhouse will pay a total of\u00a0\u00a31.3m towards local projects, including improvements to Ordsall Park, Monmouth Park, and access or infrastructure works at Weaste Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Funds are also earmarked for improvement works within Salford Quays\/Broadway and\/or Irwell River Park, while the applicants will also be funding a residents-only parking permit scheme.<\/p>\n<p>The delivery team includes\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/indigoplanning.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Indigo Planning<\/a>, structural engineers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.renaissance-ltd.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Renaissance<\/a>, M&amp;E contractors <a href=\"https:\/\/www.novo.eu.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Novo<\/a>, landscape architects <a href=\"https:\/\/www.exteriorarchitecture.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Exterior Architecture<\/a> and project managers\/quantity surveyors <a href=\"https:\/\/henryriley.riley-consulting.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Henry Riley<\/a>.
