Urban regeneration specialist, Muse Developments<\/a> has been appointed as development manager for the North West Quadrant scheme as part of the Slough Urban Renewal (SUR)<\/h2>\n

The former Thames Valley University land was purchased by\u00a0Slough Borough Council<\/a>\u00a0as part of the Slough Urban Renewal vision for the town and will deliver a transformational and comprehensive mixed-use development<\/a> to create a place for people to live, work and do business.<\/p>\n

The joint venture, along with Muse, will deliver the North West Quadrant, bringing forward plans to provide 1,400 homes across a range of tenures, more than 250,000 sq ft of commercial space, 45,000 sq ft of ancillary leisure and retail, alongside 150,000 sq ft of cultural facilities and extensive public realm.<\/p>\n

This strategic development will contribute significantly to the Slough Urban Renewal, will attract inward investment, create thousands of jobs and make a significant contribution to realising the objectives of the council\u2019s 5 Year Plan, including increasing the supply of affordable housing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Josie Wragg, chief executive from Slough Borough Council, said:\u00a0\u201cA range of opportunities provided by Slough estates and businesses, plus local demand are delivering a sustained period of growth for our town.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe council has made a commitment to use this to regenerate the town centre and provide the infrastructure we need for the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe TVU site will be reinvigorated, housing new homes, new offices, shops and leisure facilities, completing the final quadrant of the Heart of Slough \u2013 a landmark for our town we can all be proud of. The investment from the council will trigger the largest single local authority regeneration project<\/a> seen outside of London.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe Carter, board representative of Slough Urban Renewal, added:\u00a0\u201cThe TVU site is in a significant location within the Heart of Slough and we are incredibly excited to be involved in a project of this scale. With the plans proposed we can create new homes and commercial space in the town centre with excellent transport links.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mike Auger, regional director at Muse Developments, said:\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s a proud moment for everyone at Muse, as we\u2019re awarded the opportunity to bring forward the North West Quadrant.<\/p>\n

“It is truly a transformational scheme and we look forward to working collaboratively with our partners and the community, to create a series of innovative solutions that deliver a real sense of place in the heart of Slough town centre.<\/p>\n

\u201cSlough\u2019s town centre redevelopment is one of the UK\u2019s largest programmes of regeneration and we\u2019re delighted to be working with partners to deliver these exciting schemes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wes Erlam, managing director of Morgan Sindall Investments, added:\u00a0\u2018\u2018Through SUR we are able to leverage the wider capability of the Morgan Sindall Group and are truly excited to continue to be an integral part of the Council\u2019s long term regeneration outcomes for Slough.\u201d<\/p>\n

Masterplan proposals for the site will be developed over the coming months and public consultation is anticipated to take place towards the end of 2020.<\/p>\n
