Tolent<\/a> has been appointed by Housing 21<\/a> to deliver a new extra care development in Filey, which will see the creation of 70 new homes<\/h2>\n

Built over two storeys, the extra care development<\/a> in Filey will contain a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments with community facilities including a lounge, salon, caf\u00e9 and garden space.<\/p>\n

This is the fourth extra care scheme that Tolent has built for Housing 21, other schemes included the Keelboat Lodge and Springtide Cove in Sunderland and Fry Court in Great Ayton which is due for completion in early 2020.<\/p>\n

Commercial director for Tolent, Paul Walker, said: \u201cOur overarching aim is to support clients in achieving their goals and it\u2019s fantastic to know that we\u2019ve done that once again with Housing 21 on this latest development.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom retirement villages<\/a>, dementia-specific care homes to supported living bungalows, we\u2019ve delivered over \u00a3100m of work in this sector in the past few years alone and it\u2019s an area of our business that continues to grow.\u201d<\/p>\n

The extra care development in Filey will be built on Filey Fields Farm on Scarborough Road and is due for completion in spring 2021.<\/p>\n

Clare Hemming, senior property development manager at Housing 21, said: \u201cWe are excited to be on site in Filey \u2013 our tenth extra care scheme in North Yorkshire.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis scheme will provide much needed high quality affordable homes for older people in the area. It will also offer care and support services based on each resident\u2019s needs. There will be a caf\u00e9\/bistro, hair salon and social activities which will all be available to the wider community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tolent will begin work on site in January 2020.<\/p>\n
