Willmott Dixon<\/a> is to deliver a new Junior School, STEM building and Sixth Form Hub at St Dunstan\u2019s College, in a redevelopment contract worth \u00a318m<\/h2>\n

St Dunstan\u2019s College is a co-educational independent school in Catford, London. Construction will commence in January and is part of the college\u2019s wider regeneration plan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Designed by Bond Bryan<\/a>, the state-of-the-art redevelopment will be sited adjacent to the existing historic Headmaster\u2019s House and will be connected by a glass atrium.<\/p>\n

St Dunstan\u2019s College plan<\/h3>\n

Built over two, three and four storeys, phase one will see the demolition of an existing building and the construction of the new junior school that will provide a learning environment \u2013 with specialist facilities for art, music and performance \u2013 appropriate sporting facilities across the elevated playing areas and the two Multi-Use Games Areas (MUGAs).<\/p>\n

Phase two will see the delivery of the STEM Centre and Sixth Form Hub; these cutting-edge facilities will consolidate STEM subjects<\/a> into a modern central space. The Hub will also provide university-style learning \u2013 including large independent study spaces and social areas and a caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Nicholas Hewlett, headteacher at St Dunstan\u2019s College, commented: \u201cThis is the most significant development of St Dunstan\u2019s College since our Catford foundation in 1888.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe innovative design of the buildings and the emphasis on STEM, chimes with our original purpose that education at the College should be \u2018in advance of its present time\u2019, and we are thrilled to be working with market leaders, Willmott Dixon, in making this a reality.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe project will have significant impact, not only on the education we provide here, but to our wider community; those we help to access our education, and those from across Lewisham who benefit from our facilities, both on the main College site and on the Jubilee fields.\u201d<\/p>\n
