Galliard Homes<\/a> and Acorn Property Group<\/a> have revealed the final part of Bristol’s harbour regeneration project, the \u00a315m Brandon Yard development<\/h2>\n

The restoration and transformation of the site has taken two years, guided by contractors Speller Metcalfe<\/a> and architects AWW<\/a>, and the scheme is now complete.<\/p>\n

The Brandon Yard development overlooks the harbour with nearby restaurants, bars and independent shops just moments away. Brandon Yard combines restored listed buildings with new build elements to provide 58 one, two- and three-bedroom apartments.<\/p>\n

Throughout the development, a combination of traditional building techniques and modern design have been used, adapting to the site\u2019s specific requirements.<\/p>\n

One challenge of the development was the restoration of the original listed stone brickwork, with a new structural steel frame erected inside the buildings and loose stone carefully removed during works then reused.<\/p>\n

Lightweight cladding, based on the Gebrik brick-slip style, was fabricated offsite<\/a> and used on New Retort House, creating the look of a traditional brick fa\u00e7ade and helping to harmonise the new and retained buildings.<\/p>\n

Given the varied sizes and styles of homes onsite, the bathrooms were built using conventional techniques, allowing each home to feel unique and in proportion to its preserved features such as the large oculus windows in Oculus House.<\/p>\n

The development is now over 90% sold and the remaining homes for sale start from \u00a3435,000 with Help to Buy available.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the work by\u00a0Galliard Homes\u00a0and\u00a0Acorn Property Group, remediation works on site had been carried out by Bristol City Council<\/a>, including removing underground gas chambers.<\/p>\n

The remaining two-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom penthouses all offer stylish open-plan kitchen and living areas, a high specification and views over the harbour and towards Brunel\u2019s SS Great Britain.<\/p>\n

Robin Squire, regional managing director at Acorn Property Group\u2019s Bristol Office, comments: \u201cThe transformation of Brandon Yard has been an exciting project for Acorn Property Group and Galliard Homes and we have worked closely with heritage specialists and Speller Metcalfe to preserve the site\u2019s unique history in balance with high-quality homes.”<\/p>\n

David Galman, sales director at Galliard Homes, comments: \u201cBrandon Yard\u00a0offers a perfect balance between homes with a rich history and stylish, contemporary design, which has proved very popular with buyers to date.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe regenerated Bristol Harbourside area is now highly sought-after and we have seen steady interest from buyers throughout the scheme\u2019s development. Given that the scheme is now complete, we anticipate high demand for this final collection of homes.\u201d<\/p>\n
