Springfield Properties<\/a> has gained planning consent for a 3,042-home village development at Durieshill in Stirling \u2013 believed to be the largest development to be approved in Scotland<\/h2>\n

Springfield has been given the green light for the new village development, subject to ting a Section 75 agreement with Stirling Council<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Durieshill development was granted the conditional approval by the environment and housing committee of Stirling Council. It is Springfield\u2019s largest development to receive planning permission<\/a> to date and management believe it is one of the largest developments to have been approved in Scotland.<\/p>\n

Durieshill covers an area of 593 acres and is expected to take over 20 years to complete. With a GDV of approximately \u00a3650m, the village development will have a mix of private, affordable and private rented (PRS) homes. It will also include community facilities such as a primary school, secondary school and library, a 30-unit care facility for the elderly and commercial units.<\/p>\n

Innes Smith, CEO of Springfield Properties, said: \u201cWe are delighted to have received approval for Durieshill, which we believe is the largest detailed planning application to have been approved in Scotland. This will be our fourth Village development and this consent is an important milestone in the delivery on our strategy.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur Villages are designed to accelerate the provision of the many new homes needed across Scotland as well as provide everything a community needs to flourish.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are proud of the progress that we have achieved with our Village developments and we will now work diligently to ensure everything is in place to commence work on site at Durieshill by late autumn 2020.\u201d<\/p>\n

Springfield expects to enter into the Section 75 agreement with Stirling Council, which will contain certain planning obligations, and to commence work on site by late autumn 2020.<\/p>\n

The group anticipates that the first homeowners will move in during calendar year 2022.<\/p>\n

Springfield Properties\u2019 other village developments<\/h3>\n

Springfield Properties is also set to deliver a new 2,500 home village at Gavieside Farm, Livingston, after submitting plans for the first 502 homes.<\/p>\n

It also proposes a new 600 home village for South Gray, part of the Western Gateway.<\/p>\n

Springfield has also commenced work on site for the 3,000 homes in the new village, Bertha Park, just off the Inveralmond Roundabout in Perth.<\/p>\n
