Property developers, Wavensmere Homes<\/a> and M. Lambe Construction<\/a> have agreed on a multi-million pound deal for the Nightingale Quarter in Derby<\/h2>\n

Over 100 groundworkers and civil engineers<\/a> are set to begin work on the Nightingale Quarter site following the deal between Wavensmere Homes and M. Lambe Construction.<\/p>\n

The 18-acre Nightingale Quarter site will be a \u2018green oasis\u2019 for residents, including cycle routes, an open-air gym and fitness area, children\u2019s play areas and planting throughout the site.<\/p>\n

The infirmary\u2019s iconic pepper pot buildings will be retained for community use, with residents having access to numerous facilities including a caf\u00e9, gym, exhibition space and meeting rooms.<\/p>\n

Michael Lambe, director at M. Lambe Construction, said: \u201cThe Nightingale Quarter is a very exciting development for Derby, and we are excited at being appointed the groundworks and civil engineering partner by Wavensmere Homes.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough this is the first scheme secured with the developer, we have long-standing relationships built on trust with their management team, having successfully delivered several projects for them while working for previous clients. It\u2019s always gratifying to secure new work based on reputation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Home-grown talent<\/h3>\n

Wavensmere Homes commercial director Matt Brighton said it had been important that the company they chose was based in Derby and also had a great track record due to the size of the project.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have 800 homes that we will be delivering and building for families in Derby on a site which is of significant and historical value to the area. So this deal is incredibly important to us and residents of this city.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis has been a long time in the making and we cannot now wait to get started in creating the Nightingale Quarter,\u201d Brighton commented.<\/p>\n

It was revealed last year that the cost of homes for a two-bed property start at \u00a3185,000 and for a three-bed property at \u00a3220,000. Help to Buy is also available for first-time buyers<\/a> at the Nightingale Quarter.<\/p>\n

Enquiries opened for the first wave release of the luxury 125 two and three-bedroom homes earlier in 2019, and already over 2,000 people have expressed an interest in them.<\/p>\n
