A total of eight fire engines and approximately 60 firefighters tackled a fire at the KOKO London nightclub which was under refurbishment on Camden High Street.<\/p>\n
Part of the iconic dome roof has been damaged by fire.<\/p>\n
The London Fire Brigade<\/a> was called at 20:56pm (6 January 2020) and the fire was under control by 02:37 am (7 January 2020).<\/p>\n Fire crews from Euston, Kentish Town, Islington, Soho, Holloway, and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.<\/p>\n In comments to BBC News<\/em>, Camden Council leader, Georgia Gould, said: “Heartbreaking watching the Camden Palace\/Koko up in flames this evening, a building that holds so many memories and means so much to us in Camden.”<\/p>\n Lonon Fire Brigade, station commander Jon Lewis, added: “Firefighters quick action<\/a> and hard work in the early stages meant the fire was contained to the roof and saved the rest of the building.
