recruiting more staff<\/a>, continuing their expansion, and providing structural warranties for a host of multi-million pound developments throughout the UK, the Directors of Advantage were keen to ensure that as their ambitions for their business grow, so do their fundraising goals.<\/p>\nJames Milner Foundation charity ball<\/h3>\n
Earlier this month, Advantage\u2019s directors, David Sumner and Keith Gannon, took a table at the James Milner Foundation charity ball, making a donation to the charity which was set up by the LFC midfielder to help young people to stay healthy and active.<\/p>\n
Thanks to donations made at the Night in Hollywood themed ball, the foundation has now raised over a million-pounds. The charity ball was attended by Jurgen Klopp as well as a number of James Milner\u2019s teammates and guests were entertained by the Kaiser Chiefs.<\/p>\n
David Sumner said: \u201cWe were delighted to support the James Milner Foundation at their charity ball. It was a fantastic night and we were pleased to see them raise much-needed funds to provide sporting facilities for young people and to support other charities doing important work, such as the NSPCC.\u201d<\/p>\n
Other charity activities<\/h3>\n
This is not the first time that the Advantage team has combined their love of sports with fundraising. In September, staff took part in a charity football match to raise money for Warrington Animal Welfare. In the same month, they raised \u00a33,000 at their Annual Charity Golf Day, where the Advantage team were joined on the golf course by former professional footballers David Dunn (who spent the majority of his career playing for Blackburn Rovers) and Garry Flitcroft (who played for Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City). All of the money raised at this event went towards medical support for Lee Kavanagh, who suffered a cerebral haemorrhage at 49.<\/p>\n
As we near the end of the year, the directors and staff at Advantage are determined not to slow down in their fundraising efforts. Several members of the Advantage team downed their clippers to support Movember (an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as anxiety, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s suicide).<\/p>\n
This month, Advantage has been helping to collect clothing and provide essential items for the Whitechapel Centre (the leading homelessness and housing charity for Liverpool) liaising with other likeminded local businesses like signage and print specialists, Signworks, (who are based at Formby Business Park) for collections and fundraising.<\/p>\n
David Sumner said: \u201cAlthough it\u2019s been a very busy year for the business, it\u2019s important to the whole team that we find the time to support local charities that are making a real difference to our local community, working alongside other independent businesses to support the people who need it most. We\u2019re very pleased to be rounding off 2019 by supporting the Whitechapel Centre, a charity we\u2019ve supported in the past, which helps some of the most vulnerable people in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n
