{"id":70164,"date":"2020-01-16T08:52:12","date_gmt":"2020-01-16T08:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=70164"},"modified":"2020-01-16T08:52:12","modified_gmt":"2020-01-16T08:52:12","slug":"lucy-fell-account-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/lucy-fell-account-director\/70164\/","title":{"rendered":"Amey appoints Lucy Fell as new account director"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Lucy joins <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amey.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Amey<\/a> as their new account director to lead the 15-year highways contract for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/highways-england\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Highways England<\/a>, which went live in April 2019<\/h2>\n<p>Prior to her new position at Amey, Lucy was the health, safety and wellbeing strategy director for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/highways-england\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Highways England<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Lucy was responsible for embedding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/category\/health-safety-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">health and safety<\/a> within the first road investment strategy, which saw over \u00a315.2bn invested in over 100 major schemes to enhance, renew and improve the network.<\/p>\n<p>Lucy also developed and led the implementation of Highways England\u2019s 5 Year Plan.<\/p>\n<p>Having worked as both a senior practitioner and regulator across a wide range of industries including construction, chemical and nuclear, Lucy\u2019s experience and contribution to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iosh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Institute of Occupational Safety and Health<\/a> was recognised when she was made the youngest global fellow in 2017.<\/p>\n<h3>Extensive knowledge and leadership skills<\/h3>\n<p>Business director at Amey, Rob Allen, said: &#8220;Our business is committed to continually improving how we work which includes keeping our people safe.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Lucy has extensive knowledge and leadership skills in health and safety as well as experience building strong client and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/how-to-handle-disruptions-to-the-supply-chain\/41853\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">supply chain relationships<\/a>; a wealth of transferable skills which will be invaluable in her new role.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Vision 2030 is our simple philosophy to have no-one working on, or by, a live carriageway by 2030. Behind this vision is a strategy built on capitalising technological advances to improve safety, which I believe Lucy will be pivotal in implementing on Area 10.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I look forward to working with Lucy and the team to keep the roads running smoothly for our customers in the North West.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Lucy Fell added: &#8220;I am delighted to be joining Rob and the Area 10 team at an exciting time for Amey.
