{"id":71264,"date":"2020-02-05T13:26:06","date_gmt":"2020-02-05T13:26:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=71264"},"modified":"2022-09-29T10:32:50","modified_gmt":"2022-09-29T09:32:50","slug":"guidance-part-2-process","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/digital-construction-news\/bim-news\/guidance-part-2-process\/71264\/","title":{"rendered":"UK BIM Framework publishes new guidance on BIM standards"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/ukbimframework.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UK BIM Framework<\/a> has released &#8216;Guidance Part 2: Process for Project Delivery&#8217; to support practitioners in embedding and implementing BIM<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The UK BIM Framework is the overarching approach to implementing BIM in UK developed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukbimalliance.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UK BIM Alliance<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsigroup.com\/en-GB\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BSI<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdbb.cam.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CDBB<\/a>, a core partner of the <a href=\"https:\/\/constructioninnovationhub.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Construction Innovation Hub<\/a>. The Guidance serves to support the UK BIM Framework\u2019s mission to develop industry understanding of BIM standards and their implementation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Together, BSI, CDBB and the UK BIM Alliance are developing and championing one single set of guidance in a clear and concise manner. By delivering a co-ordinated approach to creating and communicating an international wrapper for UK BIM we aim to ensure a smooth transition in the integration of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/bim-news\/legal-iso-19650-series\/62519\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BS EN ISO 19650 series<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Guidance Part 2: Processes for Project Delivery<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The third edition of &#8216;Guidance Part 2: Processes for Project Delivery&#8217; includes completion of the analysis of ISO 19650-2 clause 5, with new content introduced in respect of clauses 5.5, 5.6 and 5.7.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Other updates include:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The provision of an ISO 19650-2 resource summary &amp; associated resource map<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Content covering information requirements generally, with consideration of organisation information requirements, asset information requirements &amp; project information requirements<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Content considering the purpose and requirements of the BIM execution plan.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Practical and accessible BIM guidance<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Co-editor of the revised Guidance Part 2, Sarah Davidson from the UK BIM Alliance, said: \u201cIt has always been the intention that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/bim-news\/uk-bim-framework-documents\/66614\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Guidance documents<\/a> would evolve over time. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThis third edition, relating to ISO 19650-2 is the result of industry feedback and ongoing collaboration with the community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIt is intended to provide helpful, practical and accessible guidance to enable adoption of the ISO 19650 standards that are currently available.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"s1\">Third Edition of Guidance Part 2 <\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Ant Burd, associate director of built environment standards at BSI, said: \u201cThe release of the Third Edition of Guidance Part 2 is another step forward to embedding and implementing BIM in the UK, and the considerable benefits such a digital approach can provide.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cBSI is pleased to be able to support the production of a single set of guidance that complements our standards;
