{"id":71741,"date":"2020-02-13T09:50:15","date_gmt":"2020-02-13T09:50:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=71741"},"modified":"2020-02-13T09:53:39","modified_gmt":"2020-02-13T09:53:39","slug":"fm-conway-prompt-payment-code","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/fm-conway-prompt-payment-code\/71741\/","title":{"rendered":"F M Conway suspended from Prompt Payment Code"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Infrastructure services company, F M Conway has been suspended from the Prompt Payment Code for failing to pay its suppliers on time, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cicm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chartered Institute of Credit Management<\/a> (CICM) has revealed<\/h2>\n<p>Those within the AEC industry, who have failed to honour their commitment to pay 95% of all supplier invoices within 60 days, include F M Conway and asbestos and demolition specialists, Rhodar Limited.<\/p>\n<p>The Prompt Payment Code is administered by the CICM, who are independent from government, on behalf of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). Signatories pledge to uphold its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/late-payments-in-construction-2\/71481\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">best practice for payment standards<\/a> to end the culture of late payment.<\/p>\n<p>In total 11 firms were suspended from the Prompt Payment Code.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the new businesses named, a further 14 businesses have been re-instated to the Prompt Payment Code since the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/construction-companies-suspended\/66676\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">last announcement in November 2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Those re-instated in the AEC industry include:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Balfour Beatty Group Limited<\/li>\n<li>Engie Services Limited<\/li>\n<li>Ferrovial Agroman (UK) Limited<\/li>\n<li>John Sisk &amp; Son Limited<\/li>\n<li>Kier Construction Limited<\/li>\n<li>Kier Infrastructure and Overseas Limited<\/li>\n<li>Galliford Try Plc<\/li>\n<li>Laing O\u2019Rourke<\/li>\n<li>Persimmon Homes Limited<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>A better payment culture<\/h3>\n<p>The CICM\u2019s chief executive Philip King, said: \u201cAll 14 businesses have demonstrated a substantial improvement in payment performance that warrants re-instatement to the Code.
