{"id":74110,"date":"2020-03-30T15:24:10","date_gmt":"2020-03-30T14:24:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=74110"},"modified":"2020-03-30T15:24:10","modified_gmt":"2020-03-30T14:24:10","slug":"close-construction-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/health-safety-news\/close-construction-site\/74110\/","title":{"rendered":"How to close your construction site safely"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Working with the Construction Coronavirus Taskforce, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionleadershipcouncil.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Construction Leadership Council<\/a> has developed guidance to ensure the safe closure of construction sites<\/h2>\n<p>The guidance,\u00a0\u2018Advice on temporary suspension of sites\u2019, has been developed to ensure that any construction site closures can be achieved as safely as possible, avoiding potential issues while the site is not active.<\/p>\n<p>Current UK <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/construction-sites-lockdown\/73725\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Government guidance<\/a> does not require all construction sites to close.<\/p>\n<p>However, it is recognised that, whether through choice or because it will not be possible to comply with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/health-safety-news\/covid-19-site-procedures\/73750\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Site Operating Procedures<\/a>, many sites are closing or will close temporarily.<\/p>\n<p>The guidance is intended to ensure that any shutdown is safe and allows the site to recommence operations promptly after the suspension is lifted.<\/p>\n<h3>Each site operator should carry out their own risk assessment that considers all local factors:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Commercial &amp;
