{"id":74393,"date":"2020-04-03T11:48:15","date_gmt":"2020-04-03T10:48:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=74393"},"modified":"2020-04-03T11:48:15","modified_gmt":"2020-04-03T10:48:15","slug":"construction-industry-task-force","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/construction-industry-task-force\/74393\/","title":{"rendered":"Construction Industry Task Force to coordinate COVID-19 response"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>A Construction Industry Task Force has been assembled to coordinate industry response to COVID-19 and facilitate communication between the sector and Government<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionleadershipcouncil.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Construction Leadership Council<\/a> has convened a Construction Industry Task Force.<\/p>\n<p>Its aim is to sustain the industry through the current period when restrictions are in place, and to ensure that the industry is able to drive economic growth and prosperity in the UK once the virus has been beaten.<\/p>\n<p>The members are comprised of trade associations representing both large and small firms in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/coronavirus-and-construction-contracts\/74333\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">construction sector<\/a>, including contractors, specialist contractors, home builders, product manufacturers, merchants and associated professional services, as well as government departments and major clients of the industry.<\/p>\n<h3>Members of the Construction Industry Task Force include:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Andy Mitchell, chief executive of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tideway.london\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tideway<\/a>, and chair of the CLC<\/li>\n<li>Richard Beresford, chief executive of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.builders.org.uk\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Federation of Builders<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Brian Berry, chief executive of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fmb.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Federation of Master Builders<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Steve Bratt, chief executive of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eca.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Electrical Contractors Association<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Peter Caplehorn, chief executive of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionproducts.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Construction Products Association<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Ian Fletcher, director of policy (real estate) at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bpf.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">British Property Federation<\/a><\/li>\n<li>John Newcomb, chief executive of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmf.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Builders Merchants Federation<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Suzannah Nichol, chief executive of <a href=\"https:\/\/builduk.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Build UK<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Jim O\u2019Sullivan, chief executive of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/highways-england\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Highways England<\/a> and chair at i3P<\/li>\n<li>Alasdair Reisner, chief executive of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ceca.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Civil Engineering Contractors Association<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Mark Reynolds, chief executive of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macegroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mace<\/a>, and CLC skills lead<\/li>\n<li>John Slaughter, director of external affairs at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hbf.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Home Builders Federation<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Hannah Vickers, chief executive of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acenet.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Association of Consultancy and Engineering<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Graham Watts, chief executive of the <a href=\"http:\/\/cic.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Construction Industry Council<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) and the Department for Business, Energy &amp;
