The Lighthouse Club<\/a> charity and Construction Industry Solutions<\/a> (COINS) have launched free online workshops to support construction workers, as the sector experiences a sharp rise in anxiety and insecurity due to COVID-19<\/h2>\n

Calls to the UK\u2019s \u2018Construction Industry Helpline<\/a>\u2019 have increased 25% over the past 10 days which reflect the rising levels of anxiety and insecurity within the construction industry. To help offer support and wellbeing during these worrying times a series of free online lunchtime workshops have been announced for people working in construction.<\/p>\n

From mindfulness and meditation to resilience and controlling stress anyone can take part in these online workshops as long as they have access to an email address and access to the internet, whether via smartphone, tablet or laptop.<\/p>\n

Sessions, which last for 45 minutes, will run weekly starting from 16 April and begin at 12 noon:<\/h3>\n

\nMon 27 April \u2013 How to Meditate<\/a><\/strong>

\nWed 13 May \u2013 Mindfulness for You<\/a> <\/strong><\/p>\n

The \u2018Wellbeing workshops\u2019 are the result of a new collaboration between UK\u2019s Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity and construction software firm Construction Industry Solutions (COINS).<\/p>\n

Bill Hill, CEO of The Lighthouse Club charity comments: \u201cOur charity exists to support the welfare and wellbeing of all construction workers<\/a> and their families in the UK and Ireland. COINS are a technology provider with a big heart and a huge social conscience.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are delighted to be collaborating with them to deliver this series of free wellbeing life skill workshops to help everyone in our industry cope and navigate through these distressing times.\u201d<\/p>\n

Construction Industry Helpline<\/h3>\n

Another vital source of information, advice and guidance is The Lighthouse Club\u2019s \u2018Construction Industry Helpline\u2019 (Tel 0345 505 1956 or mobile app for Android and iOS) which helps people experiencing stress, anxiety or depression<\/a> as well as providing access to other areas of support such as anger management, drug and alcohol dependency, debt management, legal advice, and emergency financial aid.<\/p>\n

COINS CEO, Robert Brown, added: \u201cThe Lighthouse Club has been providing immensely valuable services to support construction workers and their families for many years.<\/p>\n
