Developer\u00a0Godwin Developments<\/a> has signed\u00a0a collaboration agreement with Lord Stafford to transform the former Stafford Rugby Club ground into a mixed-use development<\/h2>\n

The 6.5-acre former Stafford Rugby Club site, located in the Castlefields area, is owned by Lord Stafford and is situated in close proximity to Stafford town centre and Stafford train station.<\/p>\n

The project is part of the\u00a0Stafford Station Gateway<\/a> regeneration.<\/p>\n

Plans currently include a food retailer, a hotel, a multi-storey car park and a build-to-rent<\/a> residential development. The proposals will also provide improved amenities to local residents as well as support the long-term economic prosperity of the town.<\/p>\n

The former Stafford Rugby Club scheme will create 200 permanent jobs when fully operational, with other temporary roles being created during the development process.<\/p>\n

Fast-track growth in Staffordshire<\/h3>\n

Stuart Pratt, group development director and co-founder at Godwin Developments, said: \u201cWe are delighted to be working in partnership with both Lord Stafford and Savills on this really exciting project.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur significant expertise in selecting suitable land for redevelopment, obtaining planning permission<\/a> and delivering the final scheme alongside our imaginative approach was key in securing this collaboration agreement.<\/p>\n

\u201cStaffordshire is an important area of development focus for us as we see high growth potential in the region. We believe that the\u00a0Stafford Borough Council Regeneration Plan<\/a>\u00a0alongside the construction of HS2 and the Stafford Gateway Masterplan project will be key drivers to the fast track growth of the town, which is already shaping into a highly attractive investment proposition for developers and commuters alike.\u201d<\/p>\n

Commenting on the agreement, Lord Stafford, said: \u201cGodwin Developments\u2019 expertise, flexible working approach and respected track record made them an excellent appointment in managing this project. I have no doubt that this development will play a huge role in the wider re-development masterplan for Stafford.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rachel Hull from Savills\u2019 Birmingham-based development team, added: \u201cGodwin Developments is well placed to maximise the potential of the former rugby ground and we are pleased to be working with them on this agreement.<\/p>\n
