Lovell Partnerships<\/a> and Homes England<\/a> have agreed deals worth \u00a3140m, to deliver 500 new homes on two former Ministry of Defence<\/a> (MoD) sites in Yorkshire and Wiltshire<\/h2>\n

The former Royal Ordnance Factory at Thorp Arch, near Wetherby and the former Defence Medical Equipment Depot (DMED) in Ludgershall near Andover will provide a mix of open market and affordable homes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Thorp Arch site<\/h3>\n

Lovell\u2019s Eastern region, based in Morley, Leeds anticipates construction work will commence on the Thorp Arch site, which forms part of the trading estate of the name, in October this year. The development which will take around three years to complete and has a gross development value of \u00a330m will comprise a total of 119 homes, 42 of which will be affordably available via a Registered Provider.<\/p>\n

Lovell has been working closely with Leeds City Council<\/a> and Homes England to develop a scheme appropriate for this site<\/p>\n

DMED site<\/h3>\n

The company\u2019s South West and South Wales region will work on the DMED site, named Drummond Park. This larger scheme, which has a gross development value of \u00a3110m will deliver 413 homes, 25% of which will be affordable.<\/p>\n

Work will commence on this project, in June next year and will take approximately six years to complete.<\/p>\n

Steve Coleby, Lovell Partnerships managing director, said: \u201cWe are pleased to have purchased these two sites from Homes England<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lovell is part of UK construction and regeneration group, Morgan Sindall Group, with revenue of \u00a33.1bn, which operates through six divisions of construction & infrastructure, fit out, property services, partnership housing, urban regeneration and investments.<\/p>\n
