{"id":76037,"date":"2020-05-12T07:00:01","date_gmt":"2020-05-12T06:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=76037"},"modified":"2020-05-11T14:21:29","modified_gmt":"2020-05-11T13:21:29","slug":"breeam-in-use","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/breeam-in-use\/76037\/","title":{"rendered":"BRE launches version 6 of BREEAM In-Use"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bregroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BRE<\/a> has launched version 6 of BREEAM In-Use, which builds upon standards for driving environmental performance and occupant health and wellbeing, with added emphasis on resilience to climate change, social value and circular economy principles<\/h2>\n<p>Version 6 of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/breeam-awards-2020\/72751\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BREEAM<\/a> In-Use comes with a host of new and improved features, along with a brand-new technical manual for existing residential assets.<\/p>\n<p>The updated standard for measuring, improving and certifying operational and environmental performance of existing assets is now live.<\/p>\n<p>Version 6 brings major improvements for commercial buildings and a brand-new offering tailored for residential.<\/p>\n<p>Since its creation in 2009, BREEAM In-Use has already been used by thousands of assets in over 30 countries to benchmark, improve and certify their performance and to showcase high standards of ESG performance.<\/p>\n<p>With this update, BREEAM In-Use continues to encourage and support the improvement of all buildings, wherever they are in their sustainability journey. The BREEAM In-Use process continues to create, protect and grow asset value by acting to encourage investment in the asset\u2019s performance, not just in obtaining a certificate.<\/p>\n<h3>Clients and BREEAM assessors will have access to the following:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Full technical manuals for both commercial and residential<\/li>\n<li>A high-level overview of the technical standards in Version 6 for commercial and residential<\/li>\n<li>A summary of the changes from the 2015 version for the commercial manual<\/li>\n<li>A summary of the external feedback received during public consultation including how it was addressed<\/li>\n<li>Release of the updated online platform with its new user interface<\/li>\n<li>Updated fees including V6\u2019s 3-year certificate validity to provide maximum value.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Upgrade from 2015 to V6<\/h3>\n<p>For those working to BREEAM In-Use 2015, there will be a phased transition to make sure that assessors and clients have enough time before they must upgrade.
