Developer Southern Grove<\/a> has revealed plans to build a \u00a380m mixed-use residential and office complex in London\u2019s Canada Water<\/h2>\n

The Brooklyn will provide 150 new homes alongside 25,000 sq ft of B1 office space on the doorstep of regeneration project, Canada Water<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The scheme has been designed by architects Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands<\/a> (LDS).<\/p>\n

The development will be 18 storeys high and will occupy a site called St Olav\u2019s Court besides the Rotherhithe Tunnel and fronting the A200 (Lower Rd). It is close to Canada Water Tube and Overground station, and only moments away from the Thames.<\/p>\n

Planning permission will now be sought from Southwark Council<\/a> after Southern Grove exchanged on the site.<\/p>\n

The company will also be seeking a housing association partner to help provide the scheme\u2019s homes on an affordable basis.<\/p>\n

The scheme is close to a 53-acre site south-east of Canada Water Station that has become a major redevelopment focus for Southwark Council under its Canada Water Area Action Plan.<\/p>\n

Regeneration \u2018hotbed\u2019<\/h3>\n

Tom Slingsby, CEO of Southern Grove, commented: \u201cThe Brooklyn is a fantastic addition to this site and will provide a healthy boost to housing and commercial stock in Canada Water<\/a>, which is one of the capital\u2019s regeneration hotbeds.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople living here really will feel like they are within striking distance of central London. They will be able to hop on the Tube and be in the City, Canary Wharf or any corner of the capital in minutes.<\/p>\n

\u201cCanada Water is going to be put on the map in a bold new way by the extensive regeneration that is going to take hold over the next 15 years and our own scheme will complement that effort.\u201d<\/p>\n
