The civic quarter of the South Kilburn masterplan regeneration programme, Peel Place, has been given the go-ahead at Brent Council\u2019s<\/a> first virtual planning committee<\/h2>\n

Developer Countryside<\/a> and housing association Home Group<\/a> will deliver 308 new tenure-blind homes, of which 41% will be for affordable housing as part of the \u00a3161m Peel Place plans.<\/p>\n

Peel Place plans<\/h3>\n

As part of the civic quarter, residents will also have access to a new health centre, community hub, affordable gym, affordable workspace, other retail and commercial uses, a market square, and significant public realm, landscaping, greening and future connection to the emerging district heating<\/a> network.<\/p>\n

As part of the development, Countryside, Home Group and Brent Council will focus on providing attractive green spaces and introduce tree-lined avenues and planting throughout the public space, ensuring it works in harmony with the nearby Kilburn Park, while improving the ecological and biodiversity credentials<\/a> of the site.<\/p>\n

Located within walking distance of the bustling Carlton Vale area and a short walk from Queen\u2019s Park and Kilburn Park stations, the first wave of new homes is expected to be ready in Q3 2021.<\/p>\n

The first phase of the Peel Place scheme, which prioritised the delivery of 38 affordable homes on the site, was previously approved by the council and construction started in December 2019.<\/p>\n

Child Graddon Lewis<\/a> is the architect for the scheme.<\/p>\n
