{"id":77743,"date":"2020-06-17T08:32:08","date_gmt":"2020-06-17T07:32:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=77743"},"modified":"2020-06-17T08:32:08","modified_gmt":"2020-06-17T07:32:08","slug":"interserve-high-school-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/interserve-high-school-development\/77743\/","title":{"rendered":"Interserve completes \u00a34.4m Ridgewood High School development"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.interserve.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Interserve<\/a> has completed the \u00a34.4m Ridgewood High School development, in Stourbridge on behalf of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/department-for-education\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department for Education<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>The project was delivered in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.svat.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stour Vale Multi-Academy Trust<\/a> and the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley.<\/p>\n<p>It was completed on deadline in spite of restrictions encountered in the current Covid-19 pandemic with all Interserve Construction staff observing strict <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/site-operating-procedures-released\/76379\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social distancing rules<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Interserve Construction was responsible for the design and build of a new teaching block and refurbishment of the sports hall through the Department for Education\u2019s construction framework as part of its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/psbp-overview\/priority-school-building-programme-overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Priority Schools Building Programme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Interserve refurbished the existing sports hall and changing rooms block which was remodelled to provide better access to staff changing areas and level access shower rooms.<\/p>\n<h3>A high-quality education project<\/h3>\n<p>Ridgewood High School headteacher, Rae Cope said: \u201cThe new building looks fantastic.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It has helped staff and students take renewed pride in the school and the new development will contribute to improving educational achievement and benefit all our students, staff and the community generally.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Simon Butler, divisional director at Interserve Construction, said: \u201cThe successful delivery of this new building for Ridgewood High School development reflects Interserve\u2019s wide-ranging experience and capabilities in delivering first-rate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/education-construction-spirals-downward\/75482\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">education projects<\/a> across the UK and adds to our strategic portfolio of school work in the West Midlands.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Previous experience<\/h3>\n<p>Other schools and education projects delivered by Interserve Construction in the West Midlands include Moorgate Primary School, Tamworth;
