Lovell\u2019s regeneration arm Compendium Living<\/a> has been chosen by Newark and Sherwood District Council<\/a> to deliver a major regeneration scheme in\u00a0Newark<\/h2>\n

Compendium Living \u2013 which is owned jointly by Riverside and Lovell Partnerships \u2013 will provide 320 new mixed tenure homes in the Yorke Drive area as part of the regeneration scheme in\u00a0Newark.<\/p>\n

There will also be\u00a0a new sports pavilion and playing fields, new access road off Lincoln Road and improvements to the road network<\/a> and environment to help make it a safer and better place to live.<\/p>\n

Work has now begun to get to the position where contracts can be entered into by all parties by the autumn. This will include early investigative works on site in the near future.<\/p>\n

The council is also progressing a Government funding application to help deliver the regeneration scheme<\/a> in\u00a0Newark.<\/p>\n

As part of the agreed plans, and following extensive consultation with the community, 130 existing council-owned homes are due to be demolished with residents provided with a\u00a0generous package of financial compensation and practical support to help them move.<\/p>\n

All work undertaken will be in phases to minimise disruption to residents.<\/p>\n

Transform the area<\/h3>\n

Councillor Tim Wendels, chairman of\u00a0Newark\u00a0and Sherwood District Council\u2019s homes and communities committee, said: \u201cThis is a major regeneration project that will transform the Yorke Drive and Lincoln Road playing fields area and is a key priority for the Council, enjoying cross-party support.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe appointment of Compendium Living follows wide-ranging consultation with local stakeholders with the focus being on making the area a better place to live with enhanced housing, an improved environment and better recreation facilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone who lives, works or is involved in some way with the Yorke Drive estate has had the opportunity to get involved and while we will have to adapt to how we engage with residents due to the impact of Covid-19<\/a> and social distancing, this ethos of engagement will continue throughout the development programme and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dave Bullock, managing director for Compendium Living, added: \u201cWe have a track record of delivering partnership schemes like this where both the local authority and the residents themselves are heavily invested in the regeneration of their area and we are delighted to have been selected for this project.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe timing of this agreement goes a long way to demonstrate our commitment to the vision for Yorke Drive and we look forward to introducing ourselves to residents as soon as possible and getting ready to start on site next year.\u201d<\/p>\n
