{"id":78386,"date":"2020-06-30T09:05:56","date_gmt":"2020-06-30T08:05:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=78386"},"modified":"2020-06-30T09:05:56","modified_gmt":"2020-06-30T08:05:56","slug":"interserve-june-contracts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/interserve-june-contracts\/78386\/","title":{"rendered":"Interserve sees positive haul with contracts worth \u00a392m in June"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.interserve.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Interserve<\/a> has secured contracts worth more than \u00a392m in June, including contracts for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wwl.nhs.uk\/Library\/Foundation_Trust\/Foundation_Trust_Guide.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NHS Foundation Trusts<\/a> across the UK fighting Covid-19<\/h2>\n<p>The contracts included the creation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/nightingale-hospital-birmingham-2\/74939\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">new intensive care units<\/a>, decontamination facilities and a contract to reconfigure and upgrade existing operating theatres in preparation for the reinstatement of routine surgery following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/construction-sites-lockdown\/73725\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">initial stage of the Covid-19 pandemic<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Interserve expects further operating theatres will be required across the UK over the next 12 months. The NHS Confederation estimates that there will be more than nine million patients awaiting surgery which had to be deferred during the Coronavirus crisis.<\/p>\n<p>This will require a significant investment by the NHS to expand its operating theatre capacity.<\/p>\n<h3>Infrastructure projects<\/h3>\n<p>Elsewhere, the company has secured new business from local authority clients seeking to improve their local highways infrastructure, deliver framework projects with utility companies and new school developments.<\/p>\n<p>Interserve was appointed by East Riding of Yorkshire Council to deliver the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/tidal-defence-scheme\/77204\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a311m Hessle Foreshore Tidal Defence Scheme<\/a> to create a new 700-metre long, permanent tidal defence adjacent to the Humber Estuary.
