Sadly it has been confirmed that a woman has died following the crane collapse in Bow.<\/p>\n
She was found on the first floor of one of the houses hit by the crane and confirmed dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
The crane collapsed<\/a> on the site where flats are being constructed and crashed onto two adjacent houses.<\/p>\n Assistant commissioner for the London Fire Brigade<\/a>, Graham Ellis, said: “A 20-metre crane collapsed onto a block of flats under development and into two terraced houses on Compton Close.<\/p>\n “Our Urban Search and Rescue crews\u00a0undertook a complex rescue operation and used specialist equipment to search the properties.<\/p>\n “Sadly one woman died at the scene. The London Ambulance Service have confirmed that two people were taken to hospital with head injuries and a further two were treated at the scene.”<\/p>\n The Brigade was called at 14:39.
