Home to the HS2 Interchange Station, Arden Cross<\/a> has launched its ambitious masterplan to create a sustainable new business, leisure and residential district in the Midlands<\/h2>\n

The 140-hectare Arden Cross site at The UK Central Hub has the potential to boost the regional economy of the Midlands<\/a> by over a \u00a31bn, create and support up to 27,000 new jobs, and deliver up to 3,000 new homes.<\/p>\n

It also has the opportunity to deliver up to 6 million square feet of commercial development connected through new public realm and green spaces<\/a> which retain and enhance the historic landscape features across the site.<\/p>\n

Developer the Arden Cross Consortium is made up of the three landowners who between them own the site \u2013 Birmingham City Council<\/a>,\u00a0Coleshill Estate\u00a0and\u00a0Packington\u00a0Estate.<\/p>\n

Arden Cross sits alongside Birmingham Airport, the NEC, Birmingham Business Park and Jaguar Land Rover, and is an integral part of the Urban Growth Company\u2019s<\/a> wider plans for the UK Central Hub.<\/p>\n

Create jobs, homes and world-class connectivity<\/h3>\n

Nick Brown, Chairman of the Urban Growth Company, said: \u201cA huge amount of work has been undertaken by all the partners to get to this stage so we welcome the ambition of this masterplan which is perfectly aligned to our wider ambitions for the UK Central Hub.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor example, we now see HS2<\/a> on board with plans for The Hub, including support for multi-storey car parks at Arden Cross rather than surface car parks which would hugely frustrate development opportunities there.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat coming together of partners and agreement of shared principles means we are moving ever closer to our joint goal of greenbelt release and delivering high-quality, sustainable, mixed-use development.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is how we\u2019ll create the jobs, homes, commercial spaces and world-class connectivity the region needs now more than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Further detail supporting the Ardent Cross masterplan will be launched in September, together with an online survey and comment form inviting views from the public.<\/p>\n
