{"id":79480,"date":"2020-07-17T10:10:36","date_gmt":"2020-07-17T09:10:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=79480"},"modified":"2020-07-17T10:10:36","modified_gmt":"2020-07-17T09:10:36","slug":"housing-development-bristol-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/mmc-news\/housing-development-bristol-2\/79480\/","title":{"rendered":"ilke Homes partners with Vistry for Bristol regeneration scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/ilkehomes.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ilke Homes<\/a> has partnered with <a href=\"https:\/\/vistrypartnerships.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vistry Partnerships<\/a> to deliver 32 modular homes to the former Blackberry Hill Hospital site in Bristol, as part of a major housing development<\/h2>\n<p>The new housing development will form part of Vistry Partnerships\u2019 wider regeneration project of the 21-acre site, which will include 346 homes as well as retail and start-up business units, a community building and extensive green spaces.<\/p>\n<p>Vistry Partnerships opted to use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/modular-construction-news\/modern-methods-of-construction-study\/76531\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">modern methods of construction<\/a> (MMC) for part of the housing development, due to the significant speed, quality and energy-efficiency benefits that offsite manufacturing delivers.<\/p>\n<h3>Offsite manufacturing<\/h3>\n<p>The homes will be manufactured at ilke Homes\u2019 250,000 sq ft factory in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, before being completed on the Bristol site in December.<\/p>\n<p>The total delivery time for the 32 homes is expected to be four months, roughly half the time it would take using traditional construction methods.<\/p>\n<p>The regeneration deal marks ilke Homes\u2019 first scheme in the South West since the June opening of its Bristol office, following the company\u2019s recent regional expansion which also saw ilke Homes open new offices in Birmingham and London.<\/p>\n<h3>Long-term strategic plans<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/homes-england\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Homes England<\/a> has signalled its commitment to using MMC to quickly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/modular-construction-news\/zero-carbon-modular-homes\/70946\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">upscale housing delivery<\/a> after it invested \u00a330m into ilke Homes in November 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew Bench, executive director of partnerships at ilke Homes, said: \u201cOffsite manufacturing has a key role to play to kickstart the economy and to quickly build the high-quality, energy-efficient homes that are needed across the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWorking with Vistry Partnerships demonstrates the confidence that leading developers have in the quality of our homes and the speed at which we can deliver them.
