{"id":79690,"date":"2020-07-22T08:25:57","date_gmt":"2020-07-22T07:25:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=79690"},"modified":"2020-07-22T08:25:57","modified_gmt":"2020-07-22T07:25:57","slug":"racial-equality-workplace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/racial-equality-workplace\/79690\/","title":{"rendered":"HS2 commits to racial equality in the workplace"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hs2.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HS2<\/a> has shown a commitment to racial equality by signing up to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bitc.org.uk\/post_tag\/race-at-work-charter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Business in the Community\u2019s Race at Work Charter<\/a>, designed to improve employment outcomes for Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) employees<\/h2>\n<p>Dame Judith Hackitt has been appointed as board diversity champion to scrutinise HS2\u2019s equality, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/diversity-and-inclusion-in-construction\/58358\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">diversity and inclusion<\/a> performance.<\/p>\n<h3>HS2 has set a commitment to:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Appoint an executive sponsor for race<\/li>\n<li>Capture data and publicising progress<\/li>\n<li>Zero tolerance of harassment and bullying<\/li>\n<li>Making equality in the workplace the responsibility of all leaders and managers<\/li>\n<li>Take action that supports ethnic minority career progression.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>HS2 is set to support 30,000 jobs at peak construction.
