Butler<\/a> has been appointed to a four-year framework to provide works to highways structures within the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.somerset.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Somerset County Council<\/a> area<\/h2>\n<p>Dyer &amp; Butler will provide works to highways structures (major works) across Somerset.<\/p>\n<p>The framework agreement for the repair, maintenance and improvement of structures major works will cover both highway structural work and highway rights of way areas.<\/p>\n<p>Dyer &amp; Butler highways director, Simon White, said: \u201cWe are very pleased to have been appointed to this key highways structures framework.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to bringing our experience and expertise in delivering <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/london-infrastructure-works\/80151\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">essential infrastructure<\/a> services and working with Somerset County Council to deliver this important programme of works over the next four years<em>.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The estimated spend per annum through the framework is expected to be in the region of \u00a32m to \u00a33m with an overall framework agreement limit of \u00a315m.<\/p>\n<p>Work under the highways structures framework will be awarded as a result of running further competitions as set out in the conditions of the contract.<\/p>\n<h3>The framework agreement will include the following work types:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Urgent traffic management<\/li>\n<li>Masonry bridge and retaining wall repairs<\/li>\n<li>Structural concrete repairs<\/li>\n<li>Minor parapet repairs (masonry, steel or timber)<\/li>\n<li>Cyclic maintenance activities, vegetation removal etc.<\/li>\n<li>Bridge waterproofing<\/li>\n<li>Minor and major bridge reconstruction<\/li>\n<li>Retaining wall reconstruction<\/li>\n<li>Geotechnical engineering and earth retaining structures<\/li>\n<li>Footbridge refurbishment<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/building-control-news\/sustainable-drainage-guidelines\/56264\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Drainage works<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Working in water and temporary watercourse management<\/li>\n<li>Carriageway and footpath resurfacing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"mk-custom-module-container\">\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Engineering specialist Dyer &#038;
