{"id":80925,"date":"2020-08-13T11:20:23","date_gmt":"2020-08-13T10:20:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=80925"},"modified":"2021-01-25T11:31:42","modified_gmt":"2021-01-25T11:31:42","slug":"hs2-accommodation-delivery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/mmc-news\/hs2-accommodation-delivery\/80925\/","title":{"rendered":"Wernick completes HS2 offsite accommodation delivery"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wernick.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wernick Buildings<\/a> has recently completed its first offsite accommodation instalment supporting the construction of High Speed 2<\/h2>\n<p>Wernick Buildings has manufactured, transported and installed office and welfare accommodation to a site just outside of London where HS2 will be launching its first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/chiltern-tunnelling-machines\/80771\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tunnel boring machines<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The HS2 contract, awarded by HS2\u2019s Main Works Civils Contractor Align JV \u2013 a\u00a0joint venture formed of three companies: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bouygues-tp.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bouygues Travaux Publics<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.srm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sir Robert McAlpine<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.volkerfitzpatrick.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">VolkerFitzpatrick<\/a> \u2013 has supported jobs for the company which employs over 170 people from the local area.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, the company completed the manufacture of the building modules at the factory in Port Talbot and these were transported to the site near the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/modular-construction-news\/hs2-modular-bridge\/80678\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">M25 and installed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It is not just Wernick Buildings that benefits from these contracts, but other local businesses that can win work on the HS2 project indirectly.<\/p>\n<p>Wernick uses other local suppliers including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trefoilinteriors.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trefoil Interiors<\/a>, who provided the internal fit-outs for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/modular-construction-news\/fusion-pulse-wernick\/76696\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">accommodation units<\/a>.
