mac-group<\/a> has been awarded a \u00a34.25m deal to build an industrial development of 11 units in the Black Country<\/h2>\n

As the main contractor for the WD.BOXHUB<\/a>-Rowley Regis, it will deliver the units and associated office space, totalling 56,388 sq ft, for Solihull-based Warmflame Developments Ltd.<\/p>\n

Groundworks have already begun on-site, which includes lime stabilisation to reduce the export and import of materials to site, storm attenuation and offsite drainage connections<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This will be followed by the construction of the steel frame units<\/a>, each of which will have a roller shutter door for vehicle access.<\/p>\n

The units will be clad with a mixture of horizontal and vertical elements, while feature projections will be added to the entrances and around the windows, as well as feature glass canopies over the entrances.<\/p>\n

Internally the floors will be finished to FM2 standard, making them suitable for wide-aisle racking or stacking over 8 metres in height, and there will also be mezzanine areas for storage and potential office space. Each unit will also have toilets blocks and kitchen units.<\/p>\n

Works will also include HGV access provisions, 77 car parking spaces and external landscaping areas.<\/p>\n

A much-needed investment<\/h3>\n

Ray O\u2019Sullivan, director of the mac-group, based in the Solihull office, said: \u201cWith the challenges we\u2019ve all experienced these past few months, it is great to get started on this development, which will bring much-needed investment into the Black Country, as well as jobs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is our first appointment with Warmflame Developments<\/a> and we\u2019re looking forward to building a relationship with the team.\u201d<\/p>\n

David Burns, construction director at Warmflame Developments, said: \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to have brought mac-group on board to deliver the WD.BOXHUB- Rowley Regis speculative development, which will provide a high-quality industrial scheme in the Black Country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith excellent transport links, a strong occupier base, local skilled workforce and record levels of investment being poured into the area, Rowley Regis is a prime location for a WD.BOXHUB development.\u201d<\/p>\n

mac-group anticipates a completion date of March 2021.<\/p>\n
