rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Amey<\/a> employees, following the announcement by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transport.gov.scot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Transport Scotland<\/a> that Amey will be the new provider to inspect, maintain and improve the motorways for its South West contract in Scotland<\/h2>\n<p>Data will be key to providing these services, and a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/asset-management-built-environment\/62094\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">asset management<\/a> approach will be used to make informed decisions and ensure the people and businesses that use these roads everyday experience reliable journey times and a high level of customer care.<\/p>\n<p>Another\u00a0vital\u00a0part of the contract will see\u00a0Amey\u00a0manage the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scotlandtranserv.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/TRISS-case-study.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trunk Road Incident Support Service<\/a> (TRISS).<\/p>\n<p>An increase in Amey teams patrolling the network will assist road users experiencing difficulties on the network to get quickly and safely on their way.<\/p>\n<p>Amey\u2019s specialist bridge engineers will also be monitoring and maintaining major infrastructure assets such as the Erskine and Kingston bridges on the 600 kilometres of the road network under the new network management contract.<\/p>\n<h3>Working efficiently and safely<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/amey-transport-infrastructure\/79019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Peter Anderson<\/a>, managing director for Transport Infrastructure, said: \u201cI\u2019m delighted today to welcome over 250 employees to Amey who has started work on our new South West contract in Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Following a unique five-month mobilisation through Covid-19, today marks day one for the contract, which will see our dedicated team of engineers spend the next eight years developing the service through the introduction of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/construction-technology-news\/road-network-technology\/73411\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">new technology<\/a>, developing our people and looking at ways to work more efficiently and safely.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll also be doing more to listen to the needs of the road users to work with Transport Scotland to make decisions based on data and customer insight.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019m looking forward to continuing our relationship with Transport Scotland to support local growth, economic development and
