Turner & Townsend<\/a> has been appointed to provide project and cost management services to Enfield for the delivery of infrastructure at Meridian Water<\/h2>\n

The project, which will span 25 years, will see the Meridian Water<\/a> site transformed into a new quarter for London.<\/p>\n

Situated next to Lee Valley Regional Park it will provide 10,000 new homes<\/a> and generate thousands of jobs.<\/p>\n

Enfield Council has successfully secured a Housing Infrastructure Fund<\/a> grant through the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG) to deliver the enabling works.<\/p>\n

The funding will be able to provide greater site-wide connectivity through movement corridors and utilities, including new bridges, flood attenuation and contamination remediation, new public realm and highways.<\/p>\n

Planning permission for the works was secured earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Turner & Townsend will manage the main contractor through detailed design and into delivery, working alongside the council and its professional team of master planners, architects and technical advisors.<\/p>\n

Releasing development parcels<\/h3>\n

Chris Sargent, managing director of project and programme management, said: \u201cThe Meridian Water development demonstrates the forward-looking nature of the council and its commitment to driving the agenda for 21st-century place-making.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy drawing on expertise from both our infrastructure and real estate teams we have successfully unlocked major residential-led projects at Eddington in Cambridge, Aylesham in Kent, and Houghton Regis in Mid-Bedfordshire, and continue to work on complex sites across Nine Elms<\/a> and Battersea.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe look forward to building a long-term relationship with Enfield Council as we unlock this ground-breaking project.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meridian Water programme director, Peter George, added: \u201cWe are delighted to be working with Turner & Townsend to deliver the Meridian Water Housing Infrastructure Fund works.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a key appointment to get the physical infrastructure works underway that in turn releases development parcels allowing us to build out new homes, commercial and open spaces in line with our masterplan.\u201d<\/p>\n
