{"id":82523,"date":"2020-09-16T10:49:37","date_gmt":"2020-09-16T09:49:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=82523"},"modified":"2020-09-16T10:49:37","modified_gmt":"2020-09-16T09:49:37","slug":"actis-to-provide-insulation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/actis-to-provide-insulation\/82523\/","title":{"rendered":"Actis to provide insulation for all PCR Projects\u2019 developments"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Surrey-based PCR Projects, a home counties property developer has decided to use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insulation-actis.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Actis Hybrid<\/a> insulation products on all of its future developments<\/h2>\n<p>PCR Projects has just completed a 43-home <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/actis-hybris-shortlisted-awards\/43626\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">timber frame<\/a> development in Garlinge in Kent \u2013 a mixture of two, three- and four-bedroom houses and some affordable two-bedroom apartments.<\/p>\n<p>All were insulated with honeycomb insulation 125mm Actis Hybris in the walls and 90mm Hybris and insulating vapour control layer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insulation-actis.com\/hybrid-system\/hcontrol-hybrid-uk.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HControl Hybrid<\/a> in the roofs.<\/p>\n<p>Owners have already moved into the first tranche of homes, with just four left to complete.<\/p>\n<p>The developer&#8217;s first foray into the world of Actis insulation began at a nine-home development in Walmer also in Kent \u2013 and the company was so impressed it immediately chose the same products for its larger scheme.<\/p>\n<p>Prices for the houses range from \u00a3280,000 to \u00a3400,000, while the flats are available through affordable homes specialist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.landspeedhomes.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Landspeed Homes<\/a> on a shared equity or shared ownership basis.<\/p>\n<p>At around 75% of market value, they are being offered to people with connections to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thanet.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Thanet District Council<\/a> area who would otherwise be unable to buy a similar property on the open market.<\/p>\n<p>PCR Projects, which worked with Ramsgate-based timber frame specialist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lnmstructures.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LNM Structures<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/home-extensions-quality\/80308\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">create the homes<\/a>, is now looking forward to creating its next thermally efficient development in the area.<\/p>\n<h3>A clear time saver<\/h3>\n<p>PCR Projects&#8217; site manager, Tony Byron-Cooper, said: &#8220;We&#8217;ve found it to be a big labour time saver as it&#8217;s so quick and easy to install and achieves a better seal into timber frame as opposed to sheet insulation material.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have found just being able to store it easily is a bonus. Also, any waste is easy to dispose of.
