{"id":82907,"date":"2020-09-24T08:22:07","date_gmt":"2020-09-24T07:22:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=82907"},"modified":"2020-09-24T08:22:07","modified_gmt":"2020-09-24T07:22:07","slug":"citbs-strategic-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/citbs-strategic-plan\/82907\/","title":{"rendered":"CITB to give 19,000 people onsite experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.citb.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CITB<\/a> has pledged to give 19,000 people construction site experience and allocate a further \u00a3110m, on top of grant support, to support learners and employers as part of its \u2018Strategic Plan\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Key elements of CITB\u2019s Strategic Plan aim to support training and retraining, improve productivity and make it easier to help employers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/citb-support-for-apprentices\/82657\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bring in apprentices<\/a> and other new entrants.<\/p>\n<p>CITB will focus on a smaller number of priorities to help <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/construction-technology-news\/digital-transformation-in-construction-2\/80102\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">modernise construction<\/a> and increase productivity, collaborating with industry, governments and Further Education (FE).<\/p>\n<p>As well as delivering direct support to employers, CITB&#8217;s Strategic Plan will use this period to help fix the system, making it easier to recruit workers into the industry and to access training.<\/p>\n<h3>Between 2021 and 2025, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/citb-sets-out-plan\/78193\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CITB\u2019s levy<\/a> will be invested across Britain to:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Support 28,000 taster experiences of construction and in Go Construct<\/li>\n<li>Give 19,000 people onsite experience to prepare them to start work in construction through onsite hubs<\/li>\n<li>Create a new pathway between Further Education and employment available to 8,000 learners, including 1,600 apprenticeship starts<\/li>\n<li>Raise the share of apprentices completing their programmes from 60% to 70% through allocating \u00a3110m to support learners and employers on top of grant support<\/li>\n<li>Help employers to invest in training initially to rebuild after the pandemic but increasingly to modernise and raise productivity through the Grants Scheme and other funding.
