Manchester City Council<\/a> has approved an \u00a380m regeneration plan for a mixed-use community with 410 new homes at Coleshill Street<\/h2>\n

The regeneration plans submitted by ENGIE<\/a> and Landcare (East Manchester) Ltd<\/a>, part of the NPL Group aim to transform a former industrial site<\/a> into a low carbon, mixed-use community at Coleshill Street in Miles Platting.<\/p>\n

The proposals for Coleshill Street include 8,8055 sqm of open space and courtyards, combining sustainable design with digital infrastructure<\/a>, smart homes and quality public realm.<\/p>\n

The \u00a380m scheme will also feature a wide range of homes from one-bedroom apartments to three-bedroom houses, creating a multi-tenure neighbourhood with approximately 50% of all units designated as family homes.<\/p>\n

A net-zero carbon scheme<\/h3>\n

There will be a focus on using smart technology inside the homes, with renewable energy and the use of highly efficient air source heat pumps<\/a> providing a cheap source of heating and hot water.<\/p>\n

The scheme has been designed with the potential of being net-zero carbon<\/a> and looks to encourage social interaction and healthy living, with plenty of public green spaces complemented by communal courtyards, ample secure cycle parking, vehicular charging points and club car spaces.<\/p>\n

The Coleshill Street site will deliver 296 bespoke homes for private rental and over 100 new affordable homes<\/a> for a registered provider partner.<\/p>\n

James Crow,\u00a0divisional head of investments & development management at ENGIE,\u00a0said: \u201cThis is an exemplar of regeneration in the modern world \u2013 taking a derelict brownfield site and transforming it into a multi-tenure, energy efficient development with much-needed new homes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis scheme will benefit from ENGIE\u2019s integrated service offering \u2013 ranging from our expertise in place making and regeneration, experience of building with the newest materials and utilising smart technology and energy efficient infrastructure<\/a> to benefit both the environment and residents\u2019 finances over the long run.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything we do as a business is centred on supporting the path to zero carbon and it\u2019s fantastic that Manchester City Council has recognised how regeneration and new housing supply can be instrumental in delivering this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simon Towers, group managing director at NPL Group, added: \u201cThe scheme will provide a high-quality sustainable neighbourhood, including local shops and enhanced connections into and around the site, ensuring that the new development is well integrated with the wider community.\u201d<\/p>\n

ENGIE and Landcare are currently working with funding partners to commence site activity at Coleshill Street in early 2021.<\/p>\n
